Number of the week ... $107 billion!
That is how much Anheuser-Busch InBev (World's largest brewing company, headquartered in Belgium - making Budweiser, Corona, Stella Artois, etc.) will pay to purchase SABMiller (World's 2nd largest brewing company, headquartered in London - making Miller, Fosters, Grolsch, etc.) The new company will be based in Belgium and produce about 30 percent of the global beer market. It will be called ABIgBeerScABM, which means Global Lager Domination in a regional dialect of Afrikaans spoken mainly in select Brazilian beer forests. Support American breweries and treat someone to an American beer on this fine Friday! And ask your local brewer what they think about this merger. Oh, and just 3 more days to vote your favorite brewery - be awesome and vote!
